Always with Me

I'm sure if you look into most girls handbags there will be a little bit of make-up in there. Personally I like to have little make-up stash on hand for those 'just in case' times.

For a base that doubles as a pretty heavy duty concealer if needs be I have the Vichy Derma-Blend Foundation, which although I don't necessarily dislike it, I'm not a massive fan of so just keep around for when needs must. Also in the complexion department I like to have the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer which I do really like, and nine times out of ten will be the sole product I reach for out of this bag, it's great a brightening my complexion. If I do have a pesky blemish that needs concealing I'll use the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer but honestly I don't see what the fuss is about with this product. To stop me looking too shiny I'll grab my Maybelline Dream Matte Powder as it comes with a hand mirror and applicator. A new addition is the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Stick. I haven't used it enough to have a full opinion on it, but it's good coverage and easy to blend and apply.

For eyes I have my Topshop Eye Crayon if I need a bit of colour on my lids. It's easy to apply and blend which makes it perfect for on the go application. If my brows need filling in, or I want a more subtle eye look I also have my Avon Brown Pencil which I really like using. I also like to keep this little Rimmel Quad handy along with this little brush. Finally for eyes I have a sample Clinique High Impact Mascara  which makes my lashes longer and more defined.

For cheeks I have my Topshop Cream Blush which is also easy to apply and comes with a handy mirror. I also have a small Benefits Watts Up to add some luminosity to my skin if it needs its. To finish I have my Carmex Moisture Plus lip balm which has a hint of tint so gives a slight peach look to my lips without be hard to apply in anyway.

What do you keep with you?

Throwback Thursday: Tophshop Glow

It might just be me, but I find that the highstreet is really lacking in highlighters. I know that more and more brands are slowly bringing them out, but for a long time the chances of finding one were slim to none, so when I locked eyes with this product over a crowded Topshop floor, I knew I had to have it.

Due to it's creamy consistency I was hoping it would live up to my much loved Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow, and whilst it doesn't quite do that, this product is seriously something to rave about.

If you like a subtle look, this probably won't be for you as it is definitely a shimmery product, but what's great about 'Glow' is the fact that it blends and works into your skin seamlessly, and, well, leaves you glowing!

Have you tried this product? What do you think?

Review: Topshop Glow

I put this guy in my February favourites post, and didn't go into too much detail as I knew I wanted to do a review on it. I first saw it on a shopping trip with Rachel, but it was a Saturday, and I didn't fancy standing in a long queue just to get this, so I waited until it was a bit less busy, and went back to get it. Boy am I glad I did.

It comes in a little pot, much like the MAC Paint Pots, which does mean it's a little difficult to get out, but you can deal with it. Consistency wise, it's like nothing I've ever seen (we ain't in Kansas no mo' Toto.) It reminds me of a very thick creamy moisturiser  It's not like any 'cream' highlighter I've ever used before. It's pretty much in a league of its own.

Colourwise I would say it's a champagne-y pearlesque kind of colour (helpful right?) But it blends out to nothing really, so I can see it working for most skin tones.

I'm currently obsessed with mineral/powder foundations at the moment, so I like to apply this product before putting it on, as I find that if I apply it over the top of powder products it moves the powder and doesn't work as well. I like to apply it along the tops of my cheekbones and also under the eye to really brighten my under eyes.  I was a bit worried about using it under the powder, but this little guy shines through.

This is it applied the way I mentioned before, and I wish I was able to get a picture of it used on top of a liquid foundation/BB cream, because oh my goodness gracious, it looks incredible, and I know I'll love it for summer.

This product is just a must have for anybody that loves a healthy glow, and I'll eat my metaphorical hat if you dislike it.

Have you used this product? What do you think?

Apologies for the long rambly post.

Fashion Friday

If you love something, buy it in every colour

I don't try to live by many mantras, but this is something that I am definitely guilty of. After my last shopping trip I realized I had bought things I already had, but just a different colour, so I thought today's post could be around that idea. I also want to apologise for the quality of the pictures, my camera didn't want to play, and I didn't have all day. (Oo I'm  a poet.)

Skater Skirts
New Look // Topshop

For me, there is something about wearing tights that just make me feel feminine. I don't know why, it just does. I'm not really a jeans girl, and I just got stuck wearing leggings all the time. I started by getting this black skirt from Topshop, and then over Christmas I saw my friend in this New Look one, so I just had to snatch it up when I saw it on my last shopping trip.

Both New Look

I always used to wear my black skirt, so picked one up with some colour to it, as I seem to be a slave to black at times.

Both Topshop

These jumpers/tops are soo comfy, and after living in my blue one, I picked it up on white. They are just sooo comfortable.

Topshop

Comfort is a massive factor in the way I dress, and this jumper from Topshop is just that. I love it, soo comfy and cosy and just gorgeous.

Topshop

Rachel bought the green version of this dress on a shopping trip with me, and then on another I bought the reddish one, and then decided I just loved it so much, I had to get it in green too. I am a copy cat, and I don't care.

So are you like me? Or do you think I'm plain silly like my lovely mom does?

Fashion Friday: What I've Been Buying

With a change of season, comes a change in my wardrobe wants, therefore I feel the need to go shopping. Well I actually always feel the need to go shopping, but I feel a change in season justifies it.

I love wearing boots in A/W as I hate soggy feet, so I like to keep them wrapped up in my boots. Firstly I've got these shorter Primark ones, and then these longer ones from New Look. I always get a different variation of these each year.

I firstly got this top in blue, and loved it so much I also got it in white. I love how loose fitting it is, and how comfy it is too.

So apparently I only shop in Topshop now, I also got these two jumpers. You cant really see the detail in the first one, it is a lovely white knit, with rainbow coloured specks in it. The second one I have already blogged about here.

I first bought this snood from Topshop as I needed a pale/neutral coloured scarf. I then spotted this gorgeous Tartan H&M one earlier in the week, and it is looove.

Finally I thought I would show off my gorgeous cat slippers. I love things like this. They are keeping my feet warm as I type.

Also, the autumnal coloured lipstick I'm wearing is this one, here.

Have you been shopping for the new season?

Fashion Friday: Spring Time Outfit

(Please excuse the 'deer in headlights' look I am sporting!)

Coat: George at Asda
Vest: H&M
Leggings: Topshop
Top: New Look
Wellies: George at Asda

So in case you've been living under a rock you will be aware that it has been raining pretty much non stop in England. What with it being May now, and still no appearance of the dear sunshine, I thought I would do a bit of a tounge in cheek post, 'cause ya know, if you don't laugh you will cry.

In the spirit of taking the michael, I though I'd show you my awesome (if I do say so myself) High School Musical wellies. I was and still am a bit of a Disney sucker, and High School Musical was a fine piece of television, highly anticipated was two and three. So when I was in Asda, years ago, I spotted these little guys (in the kid's section) and squeezed my feet into them, and here we go.

I also love the way this coat just flows up, and I definitely won't be getting lost wearing it. And that ends my little Spring OOTD.

What's your guilty pleasure?

Fashion Friday - Spring Cardigan

Cardigan - Topshop
Vest - New Look
Vest - H&M
Leggings - Topshop
Shoes - F&F @ Tesco

I got this beaut of a cardigan off of my besties for my birthday last year, as I saw it, fell in love then looked at the price tag (damn you Topshop.) It is the perfect cardigan for spring and summer, it's light yet heavy, super comfy and airy with being warm.

I love the colours, the pattern, the detail and the fabric. Basically I love it, and am begging the sunshine to come back so that I can wear it more!

What's your favourite Spring item?

Fashion Friday

Spring seems to be such a popular time for a wedding. Unfortunately for me, I've got none to attend, but if I was, I would probably wear this:

Blazer - New Look
Dress  - George at Asda
Shoes - Matalan
Clutch - Accessorize

Just in case you have got a wedding to go to, I've put together a couple of nice wedding-esque outfits for you, 'cause I'm nice like that!

Which outfit are you liking?

Happy Friday :)

Topshop: Head Over Heels

Topshop make-up is very much gaining a high reputation, and it's one I think it deserves. I've only managed to actually purchase, a nail varnish, a brush and this blusher but I'm impressed by them all. I really want to try their highlighter in sunbeam and their lipsticks too ('cause I obviously don't own enough lipsticks!)

I always refer to this blush as my 'orange' blush, however whenever I open it I realise that, although it does have a slight peachy tone, it leans more towards the pink side.

It is a very creamy blush, which makes the packaging so dirty! But when you put it on your cheeks, it does dry slightly like a powder.

I apply this using my fingers, but I think a brush would work just as well. It gives a lovely flush to my cheeks and lasts around 4-6ish hours.

Have you got this blush? What are your favourite Topshop products?

Monday:

Thursday was a day filled with non-stop uni work only breaking to go fetch my little brother from school as he wasn't feeling well again.

Friday:
Top: Warehouse

Leggings: Topshop
Shoes: Missguided

Friday is another lecture day, I also had a tutorial. Contain your excitement as you read this. Ooo, we also had a lovely curry!

Saturday:
Cardigan: H&M
Vest: New Look

Sunday:
Jacket: George
Vest: Both New Look
Leggings: Topshop
Slippers: New Look

Today, apart from spending time with my mommy eating cake, I should be doing uni work, however it has just gone 12 and so far I have watched Youtube videos, and made a shopping list from Lisa Eldridge and Essiebutton's videos.

I thought I'd do another little photo collage, cause I like doing it, and it's my blog, and stops me doing uni work!

My little plant pot/Shopping Trip on Monday/Dropped my Sleek palette :(/Early bird for my cancelled lecture/Easter is a coming/Subway Lunch/Lovely Cake/Trying to make uni work fun!

I hope you all have a lovely Sunday with your Moms/Nans/Aunts etc. Big love to my mommy ! Hope you've all had and have lovely weeks.

P.s I feel the need to point out, that I own multiple Topshop leggings and H&M vests!

Fashion Friday

It's finally Friday again, I can hear you all cheering. I hope I gave you some interesting blogs to read last week, and I am now back with a bit of a haul type of post.

Since I said I would try hard not to buy make-up, I've ended up buying more clothes, 'cause I apparently have a inability to not spend money, but I thought I would share my new purchases with you, 'cause I'm nice like that!

Top - Warehouse - Was £28 now £15
Shorts - New Look
Leggings - Topshop
Shoes- Missguided

I got this top from Warehouse this week as it was in the sale. I really like stripes and think the shoulder detailing is really lovely. It can be worn with jeans, leggings, skirts etc. I think it is a great versatile top.

Top - Warehouse - Was £28 now £15
Vest - George at Asda
Jeans - Primark
Shoes - Missguided

Another Warehouse sale item, I love the contrast in materials and it's thin enough to be worn in summer as well as winter. (Sorry for the bad pictures!)

Top - Topshop - £12
Shorts: George at Asda
Blazer - H&M
Scarf - Gift
Shoes - Primark
Jumper - Topshop

I really love simple vests, and this Topshop one is great. I love how the collar can appear through tops, and I love the way its quite floaty. The arm and button detailing also wins me over!

Jumper - Topshop - £36
Top - Topshop
Shorts - George at Asda
Shoes - River Island
Jacket - Miss Selfridge
Vest - H&M
Leggings - Topshop
Boots - New Look

I would normally squirm at the price of this jumper, I only actually took it into the changing room to try on with something else, but loved it so much I had to get it. It really doesn't photograph well, but a gorgeous oversized jumper which again can be summer and winter wear.

Blazer - New Look - £22.99
Dress - Dorothy Perkins
Shoes - Primark
Vest - H&M
Leggings - Topshop
Boots - New Look

You may remember another Fashion Friday post where I mentioned blazers, well I saw this in New Look that weekend, and feel a teeny bit in love. I'm slightly gutted that you can get one similar in primark for cheaper, but I love this blazer. A gorgeous pop of colour for the coming months.

I got 10% discount on all of these items 'cause I'm student, but I think they are all well priced (bar the jumper) and I love adding to my wardrobe, and can't wait for summer!

Have you bought any new items lately?

Happy Friday :)

Laura xoxo

P.s I couldn't not address the fact that I have now reach over 100 followers, Thank You So Much! It make me so happy to know people read, and comment, so thank you again! Enjoy your weekend :)

Celebrity Inspired

Hairbands at the ready ladies as this week my inspiration has come from the gorgeous Leighton Meester, as Blair Waldorf. I love Gossip Girl, well up until this series, where it's just annoying me now, anyway Blair is by far my favourite character. She nails the gorgeous and feminine high class attitude her character requires, and she always looks stunning.

Blair always wears such natural and subtle make-up, making this a perfect everyday look. She always has dark eyes, yet barely there mascara, flushed cheeks and a slight colour to her lips.

Make Up:

Base:
Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam - Real Techniques Buffing Brush
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder
Soap&Glory Trick and Treatment Concealer - under eyes
Rimmel Hide the Blemish Concealer - not pictured- on blemishes

Eyes:
Front Cover Baked Bronze - on the lid and under the lower lash line
Beauty UK Palette 4 - as shown
No.7 Lash Adapt Mascara - only on upper lashes

Face:
Collection 2000 Mosiac Glow - contour
Topshop Head Over Heels Blush - not pictured (Sorry for my forgetfulness!)
Sleek Contour Palette - Highlight only

Lips:
Rimmel Kate lipstick 05
Rimmel Lipstick - 550 Lovesick

I hope you like this look. Are you a Blair Waldorf or Gossip Girl fan?

Laura xoxo

Also I have to include this picture as it made me chuckle:

If only...

Please tell me I'm not the only one who looks at clothes online and thinks 'if only I was rich/had the type of figure that pulls anything off.' Well I had one of those evenings last night (yes, a very rock and roll Saturday night, I know.) So I thought I would show you some of the outfits I've put together (using my new toy, Picasa.) I thought it would be a fun way to show you the type of clothes I like, and, to be honest, it was a lot of fun.
I hope you like it.

Outfit One:

I really love this Topshop jumper, it would look great with anything. I've paired it with this gorgeous pleated skirt from New Look, and with the weather at the moment a pair of black tights. The Boots and Bag speak for themselves to be honest. It was love at first glance. Perfect outfit for uni, shopping or general day to day business.

Outfit Two:

I love oversized, slouchy jumpers and this Topshop one is now firmly on my to get list (which grows daily.) I wish I had the type of figure to pull off these wetlook/faux leather leggings, I think they really add something special to the outfit. Same Boots as I just love them, and another Zara bag (Zara have such a good bag selection at the moment.)

Outfit Three:

Oversize T-Shirts and Skinny Jeans are such a favourite combination for me. Simple and classic, yet it just looks so much more than the usual thought of 'oh, jeans and T-shirt.' I have a slight cardigan obsession and am loving this oversized grey Topshop one. Again the lovely Zara bag from the first outfit and I love these Zara shoes (so much so that I have them in pale pink, thinking of getting the black ones now though. Oops!)

Outfit Four:

Very much a summer inspired outfit, but I love this Topshop dress and think it would look so lovely with this summery oversize pinky/peach Topshop cardigan. I love tan colour shoes/bags and these two from Miss Selfridge definitely caught my attention. Miss Selfridge have such a good handbag selection, they look so expensive too.

Outfit Five:

I love this flowery playsuit and think the leather jacket would give it a more edgier vibe. Again another Miss Selfridge bag and shoes. I thought the lock and key on the shoes was so sweet.

So there are five of my If only outfits. I seem to have a  slight Topshop/Miss Selfridge addiction.

What would you put in your If only list?

Laura xoxo
