Spring Fling: Cheeks

I decided I wanted to do a little spring series here on the old blog. I do love me a little series every now and again and the changing of the seasons allows the perfect opportunity. I'm going to start my series focusing on cheek products, tomorrow eyes and then Thursday will finish with cheeks.

The Bronzer - Okay, so this isn't necessarily a 'spring fling' as I love this product all year round, however everyone needs a bronze glow and there is no better product for it than this. There's a load of different intensities in the Clarins Bronzing Duo so you should find a shade that suits your skin tone perfectly. The shimmer in it is simple and subtle and can rarely be seen.

The Bronze Glow - Ah Nars South Beach is what started my multiple craze. I love this product, plus it's Millie Mackintosh approved. I love using this as a bronzer, highlighter and contour. It really is a multi use product and this is the perfect spring/summer shade.

The Cream Cheek - This Bourjois Cream Blush in 03 is a great spring shade as it is has just the right amount of pink to coral ratio to make it a great transitional colour. The cream formula is makes the whole dewy sunkissed look great and means it applies seamlessly.

The Powder Blush - MAC Dainty blush is a mineralise finish which means it has a hell'uva lota glitter in it, but it's milled enough to not make it look like you've face planted a vat of glitter. For me spring says pink, and you can't get a prettier pink colour, that truly comes off pink, in a good way!

The Luxury Item- Everybody loves a bit of luxury in their life. This Chanel Blush is the perfect peachy pink colour that blends in well to your skin and gives you that perfect springs day flush. Plus, it's Chanel, beautiful enough just to look at.

What are your spring fling blushes?

Review: &other stories "Cire Red"

&OtherStories was one of the top places I wanted to visit when I went to London and it didn't disappoint. I could have spent hours in their make-up section alone. However I was god and only picked up a couple of things; this being one of them.

Colour wise this reminds me a lot of MAC's Frankly Scarlett which I had and then broke.

Whilst it looks quite daunting in the pan it gives a lovely flush to the cheeks.

What do you think of this?

Review: Chanel Creme Blush in Revelation

Ok, so who didn't swoon slightly at the sight when they heard about the new 'Le Blush Creme De Chanel'? I for one new exactly that one would be coming home with me as soon as. I had Boots points stored and I knew how I was going to use them. The problem was, which colour to choose?!

In the end I ended up going for the gorgeous slightly pinky peach colour Revelation (shock!)

At first I thought this colour may be a bit too pink for me, but when swatched it definitely has a slight peach undertone. Perfect!

These blushes are just the perfect balance of cream, but going to powder when placed onto the skin. You can build up or par down the colour to give you a density you prefer.

What I love about cream products is their function to work not only as a blush but also as a lip colour too. Although it is a bit drying! Plenty of balm at the ready!

It is safe to say that this blush and I have started a love affair and little else has graced my fair cheeks since!

The only question is, which shade do I choose next?

What do you think?

Throwback Thursday: MAC Harmony Blush

Why did I start a MAC blush palette? I don't really know. (Actually that's a lie, it's because Tanya Burr had one in a YouTube video and I thought it'd be cool to have one. I didn't need one at all) Due to this blush being in the palette, and now being the only one (my Frankly Scarlet smashed beyond repair,) I tend to forget about it. Then someone left me a comment asking if I preferred this or a bronzer to contour, so started using this again.

Harmony is usually dubbed as the pale persons contour, and I totally agree with that. Whilst it does carry an orange undertone, it doesn't look as in your face as many bronzers do.

For me it's that perfect, easily blended out, but gives shape to your face addition to a make-up routine, and I find looks much more polished than bronzer.

If your a paler person, or find yourself going OTT with a bronzer more often than not, I would highly recommend you try checking this bad boy out.

Have you got this? What do you think?

Throwback Thursday: Max Factor Creamy Blush in Soft Pink

I mentioned this little guy in my top cream blushers post yesterday, and it has definitely earned its place there. My aunt gave me this, as she was given it and she doesn't wear make-up. I kind of dismissed it at first, not sure why, it just didn't seem up my street. However, I was having a clear out the other month, found this, and fell in love.

The formula of these blushes are super easy to use, and have pretty good pigmentation to boot.

Whilst in the pan it looks like it could be too much, when blended onto the cheek, it gives a lovely flush without looking overdone.

What do you think of this blush? Have you tried anything from this range?

Throwback Thursday: Rimmel Santa Rose

Today's Throwback Thursday is all about this little blush from Rimmel. It created a little stir last summer, and with good reason.

It's a lovely peachy toned bush, with the tiniest hint of shimmer in the pan, but goes on pretty matte. In summer it really aids a tan, and just gives a lovely wash of colour to the cheeks.

Simple, natural, but effective. What more do you want from a blush?

Throwback Thursday: The Balm Cabana Boy

I was looking back through old posts the other day, and remembered just how much I used to love this blush, so dug it out, and now it's looking all pretty in my basket again, and our love has been re-kindled.

My favourite way to describe this is as 'raspberry' toned. It has a slight shimmer to it and for me personally, needs a light hand.

It can be easily over done, but when used lightly gives the perfect warm glow to your face.

Review: Stila, Merry and Bright

I got this lovely palette from Shen for Christmas. I never really intended to blog about it just because I'm presuming it's limited edition, but I've been using it a rather lot lately and just had to share, as I think you can get each thing individually.

There are six colours in the set that gives you a lovely golden smokey eye. As you would expect each compliments each other perfectly.

The stand out thing for me at the moment though is the convertible colour in Lilium. I don't normally use blushers from sets, especially lip/cheek ones, but I am now obsessed with this cheek colour, which is the main reason I'm sharing this today.

I found the colours can be used really subtly for a nice everyday smokey eye, but if you add more of the molasses (the dark brown colour) it can be made even smokier for evening.

Lilium applies so nicely and looks so natural on the cheeks. It blends really well, and gives the most natural flush a girl could want.

Overall I love this set, and if you can't your hands on that, I defintely recommend getting the convertible colour, and there are similar colours to the shadows in the In The Light palette.

So major thanks to Shen!!! Have you got this?

Throwback Thursday: MAC Lovejoy

When I first got this blush, I used it daily for about a week until I bought another newer, shinier item, and kind of cast this aside. But I decided to bring it out again, and I have re-kindled my love affair.

Lovejoy is a mixture of contour, highlight and blush all put together in one little product. It makes getting ready so quick and easy.

MAC Harmony Blush

A while back, just after my birthday when I felt like I had loads of money to spend, I eneded up starting a MAC blush palette, and the first pan I bought was Harmony.

I bought Harmony as an alternative to using bronzer as a contour, as especially in the winter months bronzer is a bit too much.

Heavy // Slightly Blended

I should of probably thought of that before I bought it in July, as I haven't been able to wear it that much as I have been reaching for bronzer as I want to look tanned, but I still thought I would share it with you, especially for those pale girls like me.

Just Contour

Full Face of Make-up

So that is how it looks, and I think it works rather well as a contour, and I'm pleased with the purchase.

What do you think? What are your alternative contours?

Benefit - Tan About Town

***Bargain Alert***

I was in my local Boots, as I usually spend most of my time there apparently, and was at the till to pay, I only had two bottles of Pepsi Max in my hand and an Eat Natural bar (I love those!) and saw this little package for a mere £9, so into my hand it came, and it followed me all the way home. (I did buy it, just to clarify!)

This is how it was lovingly packaged! I love it when things are organised like this, it pleases my OCD mind!

So inside this little kit contains, a Bad Gal Mascara, Hoola, and some foundation which I don't really get. But I think it's still worth it for the Bad Gal and Hoola.

Foundation type thing. I think it's a bit too dark for me, but going to look into in summer.

I think this mascara is really good. I think it's just as good as my favourite mascara (Max Factor High Definition) but the price difference will be having me going back to Max Factor, but if you've got the cash to splash, go for it!

I really, really like this. I think it is a really good contour shade, it's slightly orange in this picture, but it looks so good in real life (if I do say so myself.) I really want to get this now. (Can you hear my purse screaming? Step away from the Benefit counter)

Also I feel like I should say, I love the size of this. I think that high end companies should sell their products for cheaper and this size, as some times, we are never going to finish the big packages they get, and we will be able to buy and try more. Maybe one day?

So this is my face of Benefit, I also have a the new Hello Oxygen foundation (review to come) on and my Hervana blusher.

What do you think of this pack? Bargain, or not bothered?
