New Year Skin Routine
A combination of a crappy diet, disrupted sleep pattern, and a few cocktails on New Years, along with a forgotten toiletry bag, my skin was not looking to great the start of this year. So after I let my hangover die off on the 1st, I used the 2nd to give my skin some TLC.
I started my applying a mixture of these two products onto my face five-ten minutes before I had a shower in the morning. I then rinsed it off when in the shower to soft exfoliated skin.
As soon as I was out of the shower, I dried my face and slapped on a thick layer of this REN face mask to tighten up the fresh skin I now had.
After the mask came off I toned, I slathered on a layer of Hydraluron then followed this with a thick day cream which is just a sample from Origins, but I am on the look for a thick day moisturiser I can just wear around the house on no-make-up days, so any recommendations welcome. Then, not wanting to neglect my peepers I applied some Origins GinZing.
Before bed I cleaned my face using a hot cloth, and then applied a layer of the Origins Drink Up- Intensive Overnight Mask to keep the re-hydration going overnight.
So that is how I helped get my skin more normal for the New Year.
Have you done a similar routine?

I know what you mean by the skin suffering from a bit of overindulgence around Christmas/New Year's and needing some TLC! I'm sure this routine would've helped tremendously though :) For a thick day moisturiser, I pretty much use boring ol' Nivea Soft, though lately I've also been liking the Antipodes Vanilla Bean one.
ReplyDeleteIs that the one in the big blue tub? My mom uses that, so I may have to 'borrow' some :)

I've been using my origins vitazing a lot lately too! It's a great moisturizer!
ReplyDeleteIt's a tad too orange for me :(

Thanks for sharing this! Sounds like a great little pamper session! I know what you mean though, I have the awful habit of sometimes just removing my makeup with a makeup wipe and falling into bed without cleansing or moisturizing (but at least I take my makeup off!). The best thing I've found to combat dull skin is a good exfoliator. I'm currently loving Kate Somerville Exfolikate :)
