Pretty much the world and it's blogging wife has a love for Max Factor's False Lash Effect mascara, me being one of them, but Maybelline also have their own Falsies, on the market so I thought I would put them to the test.
I personaly love mascara that gives a false lash effect as I have neither the time nor inclination to fuss about with real false ones, so I wanted to see which one was best.
First up, price and size:
Maybelline: Price: £7.99 Size: 9ml
Max Factor: Price: £10.99 Size: 13ml
So whilst Max Factor is dearer, you do get more product.
Here is what the Maybelline product looks like against my full lashes. It basically just defines and lengthens them slightly, but I wouldn't say it gives a fake looking effect.
Here you can see how it lasted through the day. It definitely faded slightly by the evening, but nothing too dramatic.
One of my grievances with this product is the applicator as it is a spoon shaped wand, which some may love, but I really dislike. I find it really difficult to use.
And here is how it looks compared with the Max Factor version.
I think the Max Factor looks much better, and definitely lives up to the False Lash Effect claim. It also wears better throughout the day.
Which do you prefer?

I haven't tried either yet but this is a great comparison! I really like how you've taken shots of the wear of them both! Max Factor definitely makes your lashes look longer!

I love the maybelline mascara and I used to use it every day but I have to admit the max factor one does look better! Not sure I'd bother with it being a tenner though xo
ReplyDeleteThe price is quite steep, but I really love the effect it gives :)

It was really nice to hear an honest opinion of these two products - I use Maybelline Falsies and it works well on me, so I guess everyone's eyelashes are different haha :) I'd love for you to pop by my blog sometime and enter my latest giveaway, and if you'd like, we can follow each other :) Go ahead and follow me if you like what you see, and I promise I'll follow back!

We dont have Max Factor here so I can't compare from experience, but it definately has a more impressive result on you than the Maybelling...I tried the Falsies by Maybelline and its was just okay for me. In terms of Maybelline Mascaras my favourite is Colassal Volume Express :)

Ah that's a shame!
DeleteI love The One by Maybelline, I think that's really good, and is more similar to the Max Factor one here :)

Maybelline would probably be my favourite!
ReplyDeleteThe max factor one suits you best! :) I haven't got either of these but I'd get that one if I had to pick! Xxxx
