My Old Face

So if you came onto my blog today expecting to see what I wore this week, here you go:

I basically lived in sweats and a hoodie last week, getting dressed to hand in my essays on Wednesday.  So today I've decided to share with you the make-up I used to wear before I found youtube/blogs. It's a damn sight different.

I can't believe I used only 6 products:

Natural Collection Tinted Moisturiser
Rimmel Hide the Blemish Concealer
Loreal True Match Powder (It would've been No,17 Pressed Powder)
The Highlight Colour in the Rimmel Glam Eyes Trio
Maybelline One By One Volume Express
Rimmel London Blush in Winter Glow

I don't think it looks that bad, and will probably be ok for days were make-up doesn't matter, but I must admit, I've gotten used to the whole contouring business etc.

So I did a post of my Fave Face here, but here is a quick recap to show the difference.

An extra 7 products, and a hell of a lot more money, and I kind of have the same natural look, but I, personally, feel like it looks more polished, and it lasts so much longer.

I know you must be thinking why do you bother with all this when you can create the same kind of look, but to be honest, I like doing my make-up, I like spending the extra ten minutes in the morning, I like trying new products and sharing them with you, and I like finding and creating new looks. Make-up and blogging is my hobby, to some it may seem quite superficial, but for me, it's fun!

So sorry bank account, you're just going to have to deal with it.

Do you have an old face?

Laura xoxo

My old face consisted of tinted moisturiser and blush. VERY basic indeed!

  4. You look lovely with both but the second is much brighter and just more polished as the comment above says :) I agree about it being a hobby, it's fun to try new products! If only my purse agreed haha.
I would like to do a post like this, just not sure there'd be a lot of difference ha xxxx

  5. Your "old face" was perfectly pretty, but I agree your current routine is more polished. The eyes look brighter and more defined and the cheeks are really fresh and youthful :) I barely used makeup before I really started to get into it, maybe just a tiny bit of Revlon Photoready around my nose and chin, a bit of eyeliner and mascara. I'm sure it still made a difference to my bare face, but I do spend a lot more time and effort in the mornings now, though probably not looking that much better :p

Yeah, I don't think it made much difference, it hardly lasted either haha.

  7. I definitely have an old face. haha! When I was in high school (over 10 years ago, mind you) I pretty much just wore powder (covergirl), the same jane blush and one brown shades palette eyeshadow all the time. I also wore mascara but that was about it. No lipstick, ever... usually just lip balm.

  8. You look gorgeous in this first photo but you do look more polished in the 2nd. My old face has varied over the years, been into make up since I was 14. Just got better at it in the last 2 years or so with my brows and contouring.

  13. You can def. see a difference in the two pictures. You look great in both though!
I know I can't believe that the only makeup I used to wear a year or two ago was mascara. Crazy!
