I've seen this foundation floating around and it really caught my attention, so I caved and bought it. (I really need to show some restraint, for my bank balances sake if nothing else.) I then used it in my Lucy Hale Celebrity Inspired look here.
Now when I was in the shop I found it quite difficult to use the tester strips, they are were just clear with no foundation on when I looked, so I went to the Dream Mousse testers to try to find which colour I thought I would be. I ended up picking up 020 Cameo, which is maybe slightly darker than what I needed but it looks OK when blended.
Before you use it, I recommend really, really shaking it up so that it doesn't come out runny (which it only did on my first pump) and read the back of the bottle where it says that on your first go, apply it to a tissue so that you get used to it. I didn't read this till after and put it straight on my hand.
If done correctly it should look similar to this:
Now the first time I used this, I found it really hard to grasp, I just didn't like it and was annoyed at myself for buying it. However I persevered and it does get easier. I used a mineral brush from QVS to apply this, but I'm now really excited to try this with my Real Techniques Stippling Brush. I just dabbed the brush in, getting small amounts and blended it into the skin. It did look good, and smoothed my skin out, however, I didn't get an airbrush affect that I was expecting. It gives a medium/light coverage and doesn't feel heavy on my skin.
I then wore it out on my night out in Bristol and here is what it looked like when I was out:
As you can see I still got a bit of shine through, and it didn't look as good as when I first put it on. That being said I also used it on my friend and hers looked better at the end of the night and she has much more normal/dry skin whereas my skin is more normal/oily.
Overall I would give this foundation a 7/10. I don't really know what I was expecting when I picked this foundation up to be honest, but I didn't get a wow factor from it. Yes it is rather cool and different and I may use it on days when I want more coverage but I don't think I will wear it on a night out again. It's just like a middle range foundation, but foamy.
I hope this was helpful.
Have you tried this foundation? What do you think?

This looks so strange! I have really dry skin, and I'm thinking that won't work well with this foundation; might give it a go anyway! Thanks for the review! :) xo
ReplyDeleteHmm, you may have to moisturise quite well first. It's really hard to test it in the shop too.
DeleteI suppose if you have a tenner to spare it won't be too bad.
And your welcome :)
