University Series: Make-up

For this post in my University Series I am going to show you the kind of make-up I wear to uni, as I think that this is an important factor to consider (in a superficial kind of way.) It needs to be a look you feel confident in, I know that if I have nice make-up on, then I feel way more confident in answering questions and the like, especially as part of my grade is class participation, but it also needs to be make-up you can do in a hurry after not getting much sleep (and with a hangover,) so here is what I've created.

Base:
Loreal Lumi Magique Primer - to highlight, and add some glow to the face, and stop it looking tired
Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch & Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealers
Loreal True Match Powder - make it last all day.

Eyes:
Stila Nautral Eyes Palette - Bare//Sandstone//Ebony
I think that the Stila Palette is one of the best things to get for uni, as you can create both day and evening looks.
Max Factor High Definition Mascara
Gosh Liner in 015 Pure Natural - Making your eyes look awake, and eradicate redness
Max Factor Brow Pencil
If you can get away with natural brows, do, but if you need a little something, a natural shade following natural eyes would be best.

Face:
Rimmel Blush in Santa Rose -
An easy to use blush that can't be over done, and doesn't need much thinking is perfect when you're in a rush.

Lips:
Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie -
A simple neutral colour which is easy to use.

I think it's really important to leave anything you take your time over out of it, as those are the things that can go wrong if not done right, and you may end up feeling uncomfortable all day. Similarly, if you don't wear bright lips, or winged liner regularly, don't start just for lectures, as again you may end up feeling uncomfortable.

To show how this is more of an enhancing your natural look, kind of make-up, I've done a before and after shot so you can compare.

So I hope this has helped in some way. This is just how I always feel like I should dress at uni, especially after a few make-up mishaps. But if your statement look is liquid liner do it, you should always be showing yourself, and this is just me, and how I feel comfortable.

What sort of looks do you wear to uni?

Laura xoxo

  1. Lovely post. I usually put all my make up for the next moring in a glossybox so that I don't have to search for make up and brushes. I usually go very light with the make up but I cannot resist gel liner and tons of mascara. But I keep the cheeks and lips very natural. I noticed that you use a powder instead of a liquid. I havent had much luck with powder foundation, woul dyou recommend the one you use?

    1. Ahh that's such a good idea :)
I really recommend the Loreal Mineral foundation, I just used a bit of powder here down my nose, and I find it works well, as my nose gets really red and keeps the concealer in place :)

  2. This looks lovely :) and so true. I always wear lipstick but feel weird wearing it for uni, so lip balm (or a lip butter now) is better.
You look all glowy :) not sure that's a word but hopefully you get what I mean haha xxxx

  4. This look seems perfect for uni. It's totally something that I would wear, but to be completely honest, I usually wear absolutely no makeup when I go to school. I'm just to tired and sleepy in the morning to even bother. :D

  9. This is a great post, and I totally agree with what you've said - there is no point trying to be somebody else at uni because it'll just end up stressing you out. Of course you can modify yourself but only to the point where you're still comfortable with who you are.

Also, this has made me crave the In The Light palette even more!!

  10. You've created such a nice flawless look for uni :) I always used to go for something light and longwearing because I used to have long uni days and end up looking terrible by 8pm!

  14. Happy to see a drugstore blush that looks so nice! Though I would love to own all Nars and Tarte blushes, it isn't always realistic to buy these things on a student's budget!

  15. Bizarre, i'm the opposite, I always go a bit wilder at uni than work or normal life. Strange!
