Eyebrows

I said in this post, that eyebrows are something that if I didn't know how stupid I would look without them I would've shaved them off ages ago! After many mishaps, and a lot of pain, I've finally got a shape that I'm quite happy with maintaining, and thought I'd share this with you, as I thought it may help those of you who are also eyebrow-challenged.

The first thing I want to say is, I always remember reading, that eyebrows are sisters, not twins. You will never get them to be exactly the same, and just loose a lot of hairs trying.

I start by combing through my eyebrows with an old clean mascara wand. Obviously a spoolie would work too, but this is cheaper!

I then trim any hairs that go above the shape of my eye, this stops my eyebrows being too thick.

I then pluck any hairs that don't fit in with the shape of my brow. I highly recommend Tweezerman, by far the easiest to use, and least painful tweezer I've used.

These are my final brows, by no means perfect, but I don't like to mess to much, incase I do end up with no brows.

Sleek Brow Kit in Light // MAC Omega

For filling in my brows, in daytime I just use Omega as it's a nice light colour which fills in my brows nicely without giving me too full of a colour.

If I want more dramatic eyes for nighttime, I will use the Sleek Brow Kit. I first apply the gel/wax bit, then go over with the powder.

Sleek Brow Kit // This looks slightly orange in this picture, but not in real life, promise!

Also, I forgot to picture, I also use a MUA brow pencil for times I'm in a rush/travelling.

So I hope this has been helpful and not completely dull!

I find this to be really helpful, and some other tips are, try doing it after having a shower as your pores will be open, or place a hot flannel over it. I would maybe recommend eyebrow threading/waxing to get the right shape, then go from there. Also, try stretching the skin a bit so it's taught when plucking, and finally take some advice from Chandler from Friends, a bit of Aloe Vera works wonders.

What are your eyebrow tips?

I always get too scared to do anything serious with my eyebrows, I think they will be boring and straight forever haha! I have started to pencil in where I dramatically over-plucked, go me ;) xxxx

  6. Great post! I really want to get my hands on MAC's Omega as it seems like such a great universal eye brow filler. Right now I use Smashbox brow tech and then Anastasia brow gel!

  10. I am so jealous of your healthy looking eyebrows - if you can even describe eyebrows as healthy looking that is...(: I have a hate hate relationship with mine, I've never really overplucked them they just won't grow and I have a habit of playing with them resulting in them looking messy! But my mum just bought me an eyebrow pencil with a spoolie on the end so I'm looking forward to attempting to create eyebrow masterpieces with it (: xx

    1. Haha that made me laugh!
Yes, that sort of thing is really helpful :) Have you thought of getting them threaded into a shape you like? Don't have to have much taken off, and if they don't grow quickly then you will have a shape you like for ages :)
