January Favourites

One month of 2013 is already gone, and I hope it has been treating you all swimmingly. I haven't really been using that much this month as my no make-up days have definitely out weighed my make-up days. I went shopping on the weekend and may have included a couple of things I got then as I have fallen hard and fast for them.

Urban Decay Naked 2: A Christmas present, amazing, WORTH THE HYPE!

No 7 Revitialising Hand Saviour - post here.

Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask - I ran out of the one I was using from the gift set I got and went and purchased the full version. My skin loves this, and so do I.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo- Massive thanks to Shen for getting her hands on this for me. I've really noticed my skin has calmed down quite a bit since using this (under a week though, so not a full review) and I'm really enjoying using it.

Dr Jart+ BB Cream - Full review to come, but I looove it!

And finally, this sums up 2013 for me so far, and it is totally Rach's fault. But I am OBSESSED!

What have your favourites been this month?

In Case of Emergency

With the weather all up in airs, when I went to a friends house the other side of town the other night, I took a few in case of emergency things with me in case I got stuck there. I then thought it would be a nice idea to do a blog post on the make-up/skincare things I took with me as I think times like this showcase things you really like, or things that are versatile.

Skincare:

I kept it really basic for skincare. First up is the Kleenex Facial Cleanising wipes. These are my favourite make-up wipes, the are really thick and get rid of make-up really well. I then took some Olay Facial wash cloths, which are amazing for travelling, as it is a face wash/cleanser and flannel in one. I took two, one for night and one for morning. Finally I took the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo as a moisturiser  which was risky as I'd only got it that day, but it is small and compact, and I thought would work for just one night.

Make-up:

Firstly I took the Dr+ Jart Water Infuse BB cream, which again is a risk as I had only got it that day, but loved as soon as I put it on. I also thought as I'd only taken the La Roche Posay as a moisturiser, this would work as an extra layer of moisturization the next day.

I then only took basics for a barely there make-up look. Of course my usual concealers/mascara and I'm sure no-one will be surprised to see my NARS multiple in South Beach.

What would be your in case of emergency products?

Review: No 7 Revitalizing Hand Saviour

I got this little guy in a set off of my friend for Christmas, and I never really thought much of it, and then I used it and just had to share it with you today.

It is basically an exfoliator for your hand; and it does wonders.

Squirt a blob into your hands,

rub it all in, then wash it off.

Super simple and your hands are left feeling super soft and smell gorgeous.

If you suffer from dry hands I really recommend you using this. It's just amazing, my hands have never been so soft.

What I Wore this Week

This has been a bit of an odd week. Monday was a snow day, meaning I stayed in bed with Greys. Tuesday and Friday were uni days, which were definitely a shock to the system. I was meant to be in on Wednesday but couldn't 'cause of the stupid white stuff so worked all day, same on Thursday. Yesterday I went to my nan's then off out in the evening hence the two outfits. I've kind of been more productive this week, but I'm already missing the lazy days of doing nothing.

Tuesday: Top: Fatface // Cardigan: George at Asda // Skirt: Topshop // Boots: Primark

Wednesday: Hoodie: Gift // Trackies: New Look // Slippers: Gift

Thursday: Top River Island // Slippers: Topshop

Friday: Jumper & Skirt: Topshop

Saturday: Hoodie: New Look
              Top: M&S // Skirt: Topshop

Have a lovely week.

Incase You Missed it

it has snowed! Which mean winter is here. But I don't want to talk snow, and how amazing it is (it's not, it's wet and slushy and 'causes disruption,) I want to talk skincare.

When the weather gets colder, our skin suffers, so I thought I'd share with you how I'm treating mine.

For the daytime:

To make sure I have a good level of hydration in my skin, I layer on the hydraluron as I feel like it works throughout the day to keep the cold away. For a good moisturier, I've found it in Vitazing as it keeps my skin hydrated and boosts it.

For the evening:

I start by getting rid of all the dry dead skin cells (nice, right?) using the Emma Hardie Amazing Face set. I then layer on the Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask. In the morning I wake up with literally new skin. It's such an amazing combination.

How have you been treating your face in this cold weather?

Fashion Friday: Currently Loving

This week I thought I would show you a few things I am currently loving at the moment.

I've been wanting a pair for ages, and was lucky enough to get some for Christmas, still unsure on how much they suit me, I love how comfy they are so I forgo how fashionable I look in them.

My new handbag (Topshop.) My loved Zara bag finally bit the dust, and this is the replacement. I really like it, it's quite different for me, but I love the choice of having a long strap and the two shorter straps.

I am also loving wearing my skater skirts.

What are you loving at the moment?

Throwback Thursday

As I mentioned in Sunday's post, I haven't really done a lot the last few weeks except watch Grey's Anatomy. (I hadn't watched any 2 weeks ago, and now I'm on series 7) Which means I've rarely gotten properly dressed, and I certainly haven't been wearing much make-up, so I hadn't go anything to post today. Instead of not posting, I thought it may be nice to look back on some older FOTD posts, as   I find that it's a great way of re-discovering products!

This make-up look was taken from the beginning of may last year and has made me want to dig out my Double Wear and some Liquid Liner.

Firstly, I never really realised what people were going on about when they said my hair had grown, but going through old pictures has made me realise it really has. Anyway, this post showed some new products I had got at the time, and was taken in March.

This was taken from a 'Celebrity Inspired' post on Taylor Swift, and I really want to recreate that eye look, I really like it.

Do you ever look back over your old posts? Do you find it self indulgent or do  you use it to see how far you've come? I'm definitely the latter.

3 Ways to Wear: Urban Decay Naked 2

I think I've mentioned before that I was lucky enough to receive the Urban Decay Naked 2 for Christmas. Instead of doing a plain review on this product, as there are many out there, and I am definitely in the camp of it is amazing, pricey, but amazing, I thought I'd show you 3 little looks I've put together.

Foxy//Pistol//Blackline

Suspect//Snakbite//Busted//Blackline

Halfbaked//YDK//Chopper//Blackline

Do you have a favourite way to wear this palette? I already know Kelly's (YDK,Verve,Tease & Chopper)

FOTD: No Make-up, Make-up

We all want perfect skin don't we? Yet it is something that is extremely hard to attain. There is also times where we want to look like we haven't really made an effort, but can't go out bare faced. So today I present to you, the most hypocritical face we all do, the no make-up, make-up look.

Base:
Origins Vita-Zing
Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer
Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder

Eyes:
MAC Painterly
Rimmel Scandal-eyes in nude
No.7 Eyelash Curlers

Cheeks:
Tan De Chanel
Benefit Watts Up

Lips:
NSpa Lip Balm

Instead of foundation I used Origins Vita Zing with some concealer and bit of powder through my T-Zone to make my skin look as natural as possible. No mascara as I feel that mascara is a massive giveaway that you're wearing make-up. Painterly is great as a neutral eye colour, and the Tan De Chanel helped give my face a bit of depth.

What are your no face basics?

Review: Origins High-Potency Night-A-Mins

I tend to shy away from skincare reviews on my blog. I'm not very good at the sciency stuff behind products, and I like to back up my points with photos, which is hard with skincare. However, after I've included many skincare products in posts, a couple of people have asked for singular reviews, so today I'm sharing this.

First up, I love this product and I recommend it to everyone. I wish that could be my full review, but instead I'm going to give you three reasons why I think you should part with your cash, and get this.

- It has an ingredient which removes removes dead skin cells and renews the skin by doing so.

- It leaves the skin feeling fresh and moisturized.

- I wake up in the morning and my skin is fresher, clearer and brighter.

As I said skincare is harder for me to review, with make-up I can comment on how pretty it looks and the longevity of the product, but with skincare it's a lot trickier. Honestly though, I wouldn't be posting this if I didn't 100% love the product.

Have you tried it? Let me know.

What I Wore this Week

Well, this week has pretty much consisted of me watching Grey's Anatomy. I'm on series 5 now (I'd never watched it before) and I am seriously hooked. I totally blame Rachel for this new addiction of mine. So except from watching that, going out in the snow a little Friday, and babysitting Monday, I have done little else. I lead such a thrilling life.

Monday: Top and Skirt: Topshop // Shoes: Converse

Tuesday: Shirt: George at Asda

Wednesday: Hoodie: Fat Face // Shoes: Converse

Thursday: Top: Tour T-shirt // Trackies: Pineapple

Friday: Top: Tour T-shirt // Trackies: New Look

Have a lovely week.

Inspired By...

This is the first in which will hopefully be a new series on my blog, and was totally inspired by this post, from Siobhan . I'm sure we all have purchases in our collection that where bought solely because we saw someone blog about it, I know I have plenty. So I thought I'd show them here, with who inspired me to get them, and what I think about them.

After seeing Rachel wear this dress, I just had to pick it up. I love the colour and the style, and well, just the dress.

I'm sure everyone has seen Caroline's review of this product, and I am so glad I fell for the hype, it really is amazing.

I picked this up as I was in the need for a new hair mask, and I saw Fleur instagram a picture of it, so I thought I'd give it a go. At the moment I haven't seen much difference between this and the coconut oil I was using, which was cheaper. Saying that though, it is a nice product.

Have you bought anything based on a blogger hype?

Throwback Thursday: Watts Up

I have been really loving the Jemma Kid Dewy Glow Highlighter, but the other week I remembered that it's going to be pretty tough to get another one when it runs out, but didn't want to give up cream highlighter, so rummaged around my drawers and found this.

I got this when I bought a Benefit Box from ASOS, and used it for quite a while, then cast it aside for other products, (story of my life.) But now it is back.

It is a lovely golden colour, which adds an almost bronzed glow to the face, which I find adds that little extra bit of contour.

As you can see, it's really subtle, but gives that extra dewy glow to the face.

It applies like a dream, looks pretty both on the face and in the tube, and I have no complaints with it.

Do you like this product?

Review: Bumble and Bumble Sea Salt Spray

Ever since I heard that Bumble and Bumble was hitting Boots, I was a woman on a mission to find this little product. I know it is widely available online, but there is just something special about picking something up in a shop and bring it home with you.

It was only after heading up to the Trafford Centre with Shen that I finally found it, and today I thought I'd share with you my thoughts on it.

Firstly here is my hair prior to the spray.
And her it is after.

After you can see my hair looks a lot bigger, and has added a few more waves to my it.

I really like this product, and I do find it to work a lot better at adding texture and making my hair have that messy, just got out the sea, lying on the beach waves than the Toni and Guy version that I was previously using.

One problem I do find with it is that I've found it dries my hair out quite a bit, whether that be the salt, or something, which does make me hesitate when using it.

Apart from that, I really like this product and would recommend, as long as you don't have fragile hair.

Have you tried this? What do you think?

What I Wore this Week

Ah, the weekly feature is back. I had kind of gotten out of the routine of posting week in pictures and had to remind myself some days. With that being said, I really haven't done a lot this week, so it's a lot of sweat pants and hoodie outfits, apologies.

Wednesday: Top: Topshop // Skirt and Boots: New Look

Thursday: Hoodie: Animal // Trackies: Pineapple // Slippers: Gift

Fashion Friday

If you love something, buy it in every colour

I don't try to live by many mantras, but this is something that I am definitely guilty of. After my last shopping trip I realized I had bought things I already had, but just a different colour, so I thought today's post could be around that idea. I also want to apologise for the quality of the pictures, my camera didn't want to play, and I didn't have all day. (Oo I'm  a poet.)

Skater Skirts
New Look // Topshop

For me, there is something about wearing tights that just make me feel feminine. I don't know why, it just does. I'm not really a jeans girl, and I just got stuck wearing leggings all the time. I started by getting this black skirt from Topshop, and then over Christmas I saw my friend in this New Look one, so I just had to snatch it up when I saw it on my last shopping trip.

Both New Look

I always used to wear my black skirt, so picked one up with some colour to it, as I seem to be a slave to black at times.

Both Topshop

These jumpers/tops are soo comfy, and after living in my blue one, I picked it up on white. They are just sooo comfortable.

Topshop

Comfort is a massive factor in the way I dress, and this jumper from Topshop is just that. I love it, soo comfy and cosy and just gorgeous.

Topshop

Rachel bought the green version of this dress on a shopping trip with me, and then on another I bought the reddish one, and then decided I just loved it so much, I had to get it in green too. I am a copy cat, and I don't care.

So are you like me? Or do you think I'm plain silly like my lovely mom does?
